Quality, Terroir, Knowledge:
With a vineyard of 7 hectares (17 acres) at the start in 1979, today the area under vineyard comprises 150 hectares (370 acres). Every year this is about 800 000 to 1 million bottles (65 000 to 83 000 cases) that are produced in our cellar.
The planted grape varieties are very characteristic of the Côte du Rhône appellation. The grape varieties consist of 65% red, such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Tempranillo; and 35% white, such as Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Chardonnay, Viognier and Ugni Blanc.
The Terroir is very diverse. The soils on the terraces are chalk and clay, which produces powerful and well structured wines. The soils on the low-hillside are sand and clay, which produces light and aromatic wines.
The estate produces 50% red wines, 35% rosé wines and 15% white wines. Half of the production is classified as “Appellation d’Origine Controlée” (Controlled Origin) and the other half is “Vin de Pays” (table wine).
The team consists of 6 full time workers. They are in charge of the vineyard and materials; cellar work and winemaking are for the most part managed by Gérard, Jérémie and Raphaël. High quality work and perfect traceability are assured through first-rate organization.
The very functional cellar is designed in a straight line, divided in two sections: the 1st where we produce the red wines and the 2nd where we produce the rosé and white wines. Every tank is temperature-controlled, equipped with a cooling system of 150 000 “frigories” power (1 frigorie cools 1 kg.m of water by 1°C). This system allows us to have total control over each fermenting tank, with this control we insure the optimum quality at each step of wine production.
